I had a friend ask if I could help her "homeschool" her children.
I began LOOKing around and I am HAVING a BALL learning!
I suggested she start a "Daily Discovery" with her children. Let them choose topics of interest and do research. Present their "Daily Discovery" at dinner or in the evening. Possibly do a presentation at the end of the week on their favorite discovery and present to the family. This could also be videotaped and sent to family members or have a little online group with their friends to share their "Daily Discovery."
I am hoping this idea will take the pressure off of parents to create content and let the kids explore. They will be learning and exploring things they find interesting and this will motivate them to want to learn.
I am going to be posting my own DAILY DISCOVERY which will include virtual sites to explore, lesson plan ideas and all things related to history and travel. I am hoping by posting a single DAILY DISCOVERY this will help sift through the amazing content which can be overwhelming and ignite thought and curiosity.
