Exploring Maine with one of the best Mothers I know! #theMADtravel continues!! I spent the weekend with my sister in-law and it felt so good to be back on the road! Not to say I won’t be traveling with my daughter again VERY SOON! I hope:)
Our home base was Belgrade Maine the perfect spot when the summer heat gets too much! We traveled to Hallowell, Maine for a hike on The Corniche Trail, we enjoyed waterfall views and the quiet of the woods after we wandered around the high school fields LOOKing for the trail head hidden behind the tennis courts. How many people do you know who love you enough to pose with your stuffed mascot Hunter (picture below) ? I am a very fortunate person to be loved this much!! Then off for shopping and a late lunch in Hallowell Maine at the Quarry Tap Room (http://www.quarrytaproom.com/.) We sat out on the patio and tasted a few beers before making a selection. Nice to have a designated driver! A little shopping after a few drinks can be disastrous but I remained in control and found a few well priced items for Christmas gifts. Yep...I Christmas shop in August!
Then Sunday after waking up for the sunrise over the lake and a walk into town for a donut and a stop at the farmers market we headed to the Botanical Gardens in Booth Bay, Maine. Then an early dinner in Booth Bay Harbor and a stop at Wicked Woopie! (http://www.wickedwhoopies.com/).
After traveling America I have realized how amazing this country is and I am really excited to keep discovering it one location and one state at a time!
Happy Hunting to ME and anyone who is foolish enough to join in the fun:)
