My trip to Casey, Illinois also included stopping in St. Louis. Although Victoria and I had been to St.Louis on our trip I flew in and out of the St. Louis airport and explored the city again. I was blessed to be welcomed back by our good friends considered family the Sandage's. This time I focused on Union Station. I was curious when Victoria and I visited because we parked near the station to go to the arch. Then I saw a post before leaving for Casey from http://billontheroad.com/ about the renovations and a trip on the Wheel with his Dad. https://www.thestlouiswheel.com/
On my way back from Casey I decided I had time to stop in and check out Union Station (https://www.stlouisunionstation.com/.) I am so glad I did because it was a soft opening of The Wheel, and the other attractions including the carousel and mini golf. There were no lines and I had a ball!! I decided why not...I did both The Wheel and the carousel. The Wheel was quite an experience! I was told usually the go around 1 1/2 times??? but today it would be 3 times. Ok I'm game I thought...but wait they were doing a promo with a local person so...we went 4 times and twice I got stuck at the top. It was quite an experience especially because I was alone. I had to reach deep down inside and enjoy LOOKing down at the amazing view of St. Louis. Thank fully not like the experience in the arch when the storm rolled in.
I decided I would wait to try the mini-golf when my son Bowen is with me because he loves mini-golf. Quick side story. When he was little and the only child before Victoria was born I would have to direct his attention to the other side of the road when we would pass a mini-golf course or he would throw a tantrum because he just LOVED to play mini-golf.
There is also a soda fountain and candy counter which was closed for a private event. Next time!
