I forgot mine while traveling recently and learned several great lessons.
1. Remain calm.
2. Get over yourself.
3. Ask questions!
The calm came from my George. Getting over myself was necessary to keep my son safe speeding home to return with my photo ID. Asking questions came from calmly thinking together "What should we do?".
We both had different ideas about questions and whom to ask but I depended on my partner and we asked his question first. I thought it was a foolish question and was shaking my head "NO" as the question was asked . "What can we do if I don't have a photo ID?" but the old saying..."No question is foolish" is so true!
To my amazement he said "Do you have other forms of ID? We can do a secondary screening" I did! I went thru security and got a secondary screening which of course includes A. "pat down" and B. Thorough search of my bag. Alright with me I made the mistake and they will help me. Yay!!
George of course got a red stamp and "expedited" thru security did not even have to take off his shoes! He watched the whole thing waiting on the other side. I made it! Then we thought about the photo ID. Was it necessary on vacation...will I get carted? I'm 50 really!!?
George and again calmly thought ...we don't want my son speeding and not sure he can really make it in time. It can be mailed to the hotel, perfect! Made the phone call to my son speeding down route 2 to say slow down and can you go to the P.O. tomorrow? Again yes! Perfect on our way happy and relaxed.
Crisis averted by...
1. Remaining calm
2. Getting over myself
3. Asking questions !!!
Still learning at 50!
