Love how I say “little” it is NOT a “little” cost and it is NOT a “little” trip and the planning is NOT “little”. It took several people to make this trip happen including a travel agent to help keep the cost down along with additional perks not offered to the general public. Myself, my oldest son Bowen and his girlfriend Laura Douglass to make this happen!
I was exhausted before I left BUT found the energy through excitement and time with my family to rise to the occasion and enjoy every minute!!! We have been planning this trip for over 5 years so I just had to make this happen.
Many things have changed since we last traveled to Disney World although essentially the same…confusing yes but navigated beautifully by Bowen and Laura Douglass. Crowded YES!!! but we seldom waited in lines and if we did it was for no more than 30 minutes. There was even time scheduled for relaxing and wandering the parks, especially Epcot. Since we didn’t wait in long lines plenty of extra time.
Now you ask “How was this done?” I have NO idea except years of research, careful planning and a LOVE for Disney, the FastPass system/Definition: virtual queuing systems created by the Walt Disney Company AND Bowen getting up at 4AM to set up the FastPass 90 days prior to our first day AND you need to be booked into a Disney hotel.
PHEW!!! It is A LOT of PLANNING!!!
We also walked 10 miles a day or more!
So…I figured I deserved a Mickey ice cream at least once a day! My kids and Laura Douglass thought it was very funny if they couldn’t find me they just LOOked for the ice cream cart and there I was very happily retrieving my daily treat. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it too so I never really ate the whole ice cream. Sharing is Caring!!
What is this blog really about… family time in the happiest place on earth and a DISNEY HANGOVER for sure!!! I came home absolutely exhausted and I did nothing I mean nothing for 2 days. My mind was blown and my feet ached…yep, I admit I I am NOT in my 20’s but I did my best to keep up and had a blast!!
What I did learn is I need to up my game and get in shape for the EPIC Mother/Daughter trip!
